Over time, I have figured out that to become and maintain relevance in a community or a workplace, one has to be completely sold out to capacity building, value creation, and problem solving. One has to look out for a double WIN (What Is Noteworthy) for the company and stakeholders and also look out for opportunities to contribute your capabilities and values.
If there’s one thing you can count on in life is that you’ll never run short of new problems to solve! Thankfully, whether it includes handling difficult or unexpected situations in the workplace, or resolving complex organizational challenges, we all have the capacity to develop our business problem solving skills.
If you want to maximise your values, look for quietly persistent problems in the company and take initiative to solve them. Look for leadership vacuum and fill them. Stop waiting to always be spoon fed with instructions, be the one who’s always on the Go.
So, take up a responsibility, discover problems, enlist others to help and step in to support the team to WIN.
