A few days ago, I was sitting with Somiari Lucky, the CEO of Pamtech Media Ltd., just having a casual conversation. We talked about the usual things: business goals, progress, and the challenges of the industry. But when I casually mentioned that the month was about to end, he shocked me with his response.
“How? So fast?” he exclaimed, his voice filled not with excitement, but with concern.
He wasn’t happy that the month was ending. In fact, he wished he had more time – more days to push the business forward, more time to make extra money, more days to ensure salaries are paid, and more time to secure investments. I was taken aback. It wasn’t the kind of response you expect when a month comes to a close.
I laughed and reminded him of something he had said in the past. “You used to be the happiest when the month was ending,” I said with a grin. “You couldn’t wait for payday.”
And it’s true. Like many people, Somiari used to eagerly count the days until payday, hoping for time to fly by so he could receive his salary. This is the mindset of most employees: they live for the next paycheck.
But things have changed for him. He no longer earns a salary; he now creates money and provides salaries for others.
As we sat there, another member of the management team was with us, and I couldn’t help but tease him. “I know you are happy the month is ending soon,” I said, with a playful smile. He smiled back in agreement, but I continued, “Very soon, you won’t be smiling when the month is ending so fast. You’ll wish for more time. Because when you stop earning and start creating, time is no longer just about waiting for payday. It becomes a race to build, sustain, and multiply wealth.”
And therein lies the crucial shift. There are two types of people in this business world. Two mindsets. Two destinies.
1. The Ones Who Count the Days to Salary Day
This group is waiting for their next paycheck. They are stuck in the cycle of working, earning, spending, and repeating. They live for payday. And as soon as the month ends, they are already looking forward to the next one.
2. The Ones Who Count the Days to Wealth Creation
This group is building something bigger than themselves. They are focused on creating lasting value, generating wealth, and making an impact. Time for them is no longer about just surviving – it’s about growing, scaling, and evolving their business or venture.
Here’s the thing: when you earn money, you can’t wait for the month to end. You want it to fly by so you can get paid. But when you start creating wealth, everything changes. Time becomes precious. You want it to slow down so you can do more, build more, and grow more.
I’ve mentioned before that the employee mindset keeps people stuck in a never-ending cycle. They work, earn, spend, repeat. But the wealth creator mindset? It’s different. It pushes you to think beyond survival, to take ownership of your destiny, and to build something that will last far beyond you.
At Pamtech Group, this is what I do. I don’t just employ people. I transform them. I help them shift from earning a paycheck to creating and multiplying wealth. This mindset brings more ownership, more responsibility, and more impact. It comes with more reasons to be grateful for what you’re building.
As the self-proclaimed “Billionaire Mechanic,” my mission is clear: I’m here to show people how to create money, not just earn it. The transformation I’m talking about is one that changes lives – from living paycheck to paycheck to building something that can last for generations.
So, I ask you: Which mindset do you choose? Are you stuck in the cycle of earning, or are you ready to make the leap to creating and multiplying wealth? Let’s talk in the comments, and feel free to share this post with anyone who needs a shift in mindset.
Thank you, and Happy New Month!
