While at the office today, looking at my Mentors-Wall, I paused to reflect on a quote from Grant Cardone: “Your greatness is only limited by the investment you make in yourself.”
That line hit me hard. It made me think about all I earned in 2024 and, more importantly, what percentage of that I spent on investing in myself, on my growth, skills, and personal development. The reality? I wasn’t satisfied at all.
When we look back at our spending, most of us will be shocked at how much we spend on buying things that lose value versus how little we invest in ourselves, which is the one thing guaranteed to multiply value.
We buy the latest gadgets, flashy clothes, liabilities, and other temporary satisfactions, but how much do we spend on books, courses, traveling, networking, or mentors?
See eeh, 2025 has to be different ooh. This is the year to shift our focus from buying things to buying growth.
I think it’s the year to make conscious decisions about where our money goes, ensuring that more of it is directed toward building the version of ourselves that can handle greater success.
You know that the things you buy today will either make you poorer tomorrow or pave the way for your greatness. Anything that doesn’t help you grow, learn, or expand your capacity should be cut off completely this year. If it doesn’t align with your vision for greatness, it has no place in your life.
In 2025, abeg, buy more books instead of excuses. Biko, buy time with mentors and on courses instead of wasting it on distractions. Try and buy access to spaces that challenge you, push you, and make you uncomfortable in the best way possible.
Ask yourself this today: How much did I spend on myself in 2024? Not on entertainment, not on comfort, but on real investment in my growth. And more importantly, how much more can I invest in myself in 2025 to ensure I achieve the greatness I desire?
Happy New Year from your favourite Billionaire Mechanic. Your greatness isn’t waiting for anyone, it’s waiting for you to invest in it. Greatness requires investment.
