Over the weekend, I was privileged to speak at the just-concluded Steady Your Shot Skill Empowerment and Personal Development Conference with the theme “Aka Oru.”

I had the opportunity to share some deep insights and life principles that have helped and are still helping me build the significant business we now call Pamtech. The energy was amazing, and I am grateful for the opportunity to connect and inspire people.

Trying to redefine how we attend conferences, I first spoke about how we attend so many meetings and soak up information, yet most of us don’t see any real change in our lives afterwards. Why?

Because we don’t have accountability partners to follow up on how we apply the knowledge.

The main problem nowadays isn’t a lack of information or ideas because the Internet has all the information; instead, it’s the lack of execution.

We need to start pairing up people as accountability partners at conferences, checking in on each other’s progress and execution.

If we can start holding each other accountable, our conferences will become more transformational and impactful.

Trust me, It was time to make that shift, and I paired all of them as they exchanged numbers and appointed each other as their accountability partner.

I introduced the concept of ACT so they could start acting on what they learned at the conference. You know success requires action.

A for Apply: They must outline what they will apply to their lives and have someone hold them accountable for their goals and actions.

C for Change: Outline the things to change because one must change to become the person capable of handling success.

T for Teach: Share the knowledge with others when they learn. You learn more when you teach. There’s power in teaching.

And while you ACT, you must also REACT to Relationships and Environment.

R for Relationships: Surround yourself with credible relationships that will support your goals and help you grow.

E for Environment: Change the environment around you if it’s not supporting your growth.

I took time to charge them on these practical steps before delving into the theme of the conference.

Now, Aka Oru or talent, Is overrated. We have overhyped talent that people find it difficult to understand. What we should really be focusing on is interest.

When young people discover their interests, it naturally leads them to developing and promoting their talents. It’s no longer about being born with talent; it’s about nurturing the things you care about and mastering them to solve problems.

One common secret I shared about our business is creating value consistently. You measure value by how many problems you solve for people. If your business addresses a real core human need, your business will be on the right track.

To create value and grow your business, I shared the five essential moves, which I will discuss later.

It was a fantastic outing, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to share these insights through the Steady Your Shot platform.
